The Unexpected Path to Healing
I first encountered Dr. Joe Dispenza over 10 years ago when my dear friend “Raul” faced what seemed like an impossible health situation – a double diagnosis that left many of us shaken. While we all worried, Raul took a different path, refusing conventional treatments and instead embracing a holistic approach grounded in unwavering belief. Remarkably, he fully healed.
During this time, he recommended “Becoming Supernatural,” but when I tried reading it, the concepts felt too dense and complex for me to grasp. The book remained unfinished on my shelf.
Fast forward to late 2024, when I found myself in the midst of the worst health experience since Covid. During a particularly frightening night, battling one of the most severe panic attacks I’d ever experienced, I spontaneously called out “Joe Dispenza.” Something compelled me to play his YouTube videos, and gradually, my body began to relax. When one of his meditations came on, I finally drifted to sleep.
For the next two and a half months, I immersed myself in his content, and this time, everything clicked. As someone who appreciates both spiritual concepts and scientific understanding – especially about the brain – I was completely drawn in. His approach perfectly complemented the Bridge Method I’d been developing in my practice, offering scientific validation for many of the intuitive principles I’d been teaching.
I decided to attend one of his events, but discovered the L.A. retreat for beginners was sold out. I accepted this wasn’t my time, until devastating fires in Los Angeles forced a date change. Initially, it was waitlist-only, but as the new dates approached, I checked once more and found tickets available!
As a Generator in Human Design, my gut leads my decision-making when I’m aligned. There’s no overthinking – I simply feel it, and when my gut says “hell yes,” I act. I immediately shared the news with my friend Maria – a wonderful Yogi, Coach, Sound Healer, fellow Dr. Dispenza enthusiast and Generator – who jumped at the opportunity.
My Biggest Takeaways
- The Body’s Healing Potential: For the first time, I truly believe the body has the capacity to heal itself. I witnessed it with my friend “Raul” – a walking miracle – and after seeing countless testimonials AND understanding some of the brain’s mechanics and the infinite possibilities in the quantum field, it makes perfect sense.
- Sustained Practice: While attending a retreat elevates your energy, the real work begins afterward. The challenge lies in applying the lessons and maintaining consistent practice.
- Collective Energy: The power of community is tangible. You can feel the vibrations throughout the weekend as your heart inevitably expands when surrounded by 5,000 souls eager to learn and grow.
- Confirmation of Manifestation Principles: After exploring numerous tools amid all the noise out there, this experience confirmed that my own Bridge Method makes sense: everything begins with clear intention – both what I want and why I want it. The Bridge is simply my way of connecting science with spirituality – something I use for myself and with my clients. To manifest anything, we need to work on both our thoughts and feelings, using meditation to rewire our brains. When Dr. Dispenza says “Brain waves that fire together, wire together,” it perfectly aligns with what I’ve found works – creating that bridge between our analytical understanding and energetic practices to bring our desires into reality.
Helpful Tips for Future Attendees
- Plan Buffer Time: The days are long, so build in time before and after the event in your travel plans. The last thing you want is to feel rushed.
- Consider a Retreat Buddy: Having someone to process and integrate the work with is wonderful, but if you go alone, the experience will still be powerful.
- Make It Your Own: Experience the retreat your way. Dance if you want to dance, walk if you need a walk, rest during breaks if that’s what your body needs. There’s no single right way to experience it – just take care of your energy.
- Dress for Comfort: Wear comfortable clothes in layers since you’ll be sitting for long periods. The last thing you want is to feel constricted or too hot/cold.
- Do the Pre-work: Complete the assigned homework before the retreat. The content is dense, and you’ll want to set yourself up for success by absorbing as much knowledge as possible beforehand.
Bonus Tip: Don’t expect to understand everything in one weekend. Consider this event as just the appetizer to the 7-day experience. Unless you’ve been repeatedly studying this content, you’ll likely need (and want) more.
If you have any questions or have experienced one of these retreats yourself, I’d love to hear from you!
